Can you make money by betting on horses?
Not going to say too much about yesterday, except that I am still licking my wounds!! Here is my account after yesterday:
Well, that`s the question...can you make money on horses?
It had me thinking. The fact that I sometimes have a couple of winners in my box, must mean that I can (to some degree) do form-study. I mean, that is proof enough, isn`t it? Some even at longer odds like 6.3 (to date my highest dividend)
But, I am sure that there are people with better skills that what I have. (in fact, I am sure of it)
So, I have to delve deeper into the system called form-study. But that is time consuming and to be really honest about it, it is very difficult.
So, why do you want to go through all that trouble and still not make the cut?

Can you make money by betting on horses?
As I predicted, yesterday was as bad as Monday. I had 1 from 4, but it won at dividend of 3.2 (not bad)
Did not make any money, but did not lose a lot either!

It was a shocker of a day on Monday and Tuesday is not much better. There is an inspection at Southwell on Tuesday, which must look doubtful given the weather.
Taunton should be fine and Lingfield provides the all-weather action. The good news is that Cheltenham starts three weeks today. I cant’ wait, at least we get a decent day of racing on a Tuesday.

How not to bet on horses
What a disaster again yesterday. Got only 2 from 7 right. What did we do wrong? Nothing, it`s just that difficult to predict a winner. That`s all.
Look at my account, or whats left of it!!
Now I am eating into my own cash and that's bad. Today does not host very good fields and we will probably lose some more money. And the fact that its raining in the UK. Some of the fields are waiting for inspection. Might even be canceled for today.
So things look a bit bleak, but here we are and let`s see if we can make money with what we have.

Still no luck! With Hills of Rome a scratched horse in race 4, Durbanville and the Folkestone meeting canceled, I made a R180 loss for the day. Form-study is letting me down big-time!
This is what my account looks like after yesterday`s defeat.

Why, because form-study is just a guide line. You have to see the horse before the race and if possible, have a word with the horse`s connections. (trainer, owner etc.)

Taunton was canceled and both my other runners lost. But, as I said, I did not have a lot of confidence in them anyway. So, R100 where lost. (thats the bad news, there are some good news too, but we will get to that later)
Ok, for today, I have 4 FREE tips. I think we will at least recover our R100 that we lost yesterday.

Ok, now for some good news. Yesterday,I used Formula5 to come up with the winners, because I did not like my own tips. This is what happened:
Played 39 races
Lost 12
Made R1973.00 For the day
How did I do that? Without even breaking a sweat!!
I asked the system (Formula5) to win only R50 per race.
Whenever I loose, I increase my profit on the next race. (the R50 that I was supposed to win in the previous race PLUS the R50 that I want to win in the next race PLUS all the money that I lost trying to make the first R50)
I roughly spend about R150 to make R50 profit. So it will look like this: R50+R50+R150=R250. So my next bet will be to win R250. If I then win, it would be as if I never lost the first race.
Just trying to make R50 per race.

Ok, now for some good news. Yesterday,I used Formula5 to come up with the winners, because I did not like my own tips. This is what happened:
Played 39 races
Lost 12
Made R1973.00 For the day
How did I do that? Without even breaking a sweat!!
I asked the system (Formula5) to win only R50 per race.
Whenever I loose, I increase my profit on the next race. (the R50 that I was supposed to win in the previous race PLUS the R50 that I want to win in the next race PLUS all the money that I lost trying to make the first R50)
I roughly spend about R150 to make R50 profit. So it will look like this: R50+R50+R150=R250. So my next bet will be to win R250. If I then win, it would be as if I never lost the first race.
Just trying to make R50 per race.

Why some people almost ALWAYS win on horses
Wow, look at that. With Carlisle canceled, I had 4 winners from 6 tips. A combined dividend of 10.6
That is what they call "a good day at the races"

Not only did I win back the previous day`s losses, but I made some money on top of that! GREAT!!
Ok, today, I only have 3 FREE tips for you. Thing is, I`m not very confident about them. They may or may not win.

Taunton Race 4 Rock Celtic (win) This will probably be my "best bet" for the day.
The Chaltenham Festival is 34 days away and trainers are doing their best to get the horses in shape for this prestigious event. Easier said than done. There are a lot of snow on the ground and many of the meetings has been canceled due to bad weather.
You can follow horses like Denman, Master Minded and Dunguip but I will tip them on the race day. First have to see the race-cards for the day.

Why some people almost ALWAYS win on horses
Good morning everybody
As you probably know by now, yesterday was a complete disaster. I had all 4 tips wrong! Good thing that I only stake R50 on each horse. So, total money lost =R200.
But, look on the bright side, it`s not my money...
This is money that I have won from the tote since January, I`m just giving it back.
So, this is what my current state of affairs looks like now.
But I have some good news too. I have 7 FREE tips for you today. Hopefully, we can get out of jail with them. Fingers crossed!!

Why some people almost ALWAYS win on horses

As I promised, I have some FREE tips for you today (09/02/2010)

Now, as I explained to you yesterday, these looks the best on paper. They may or may not win. BUT, if you put an equal amount on all four horses you will make a profit. For example: put R50 on all 4 (total cost will be just R200)
Over a period of time (year, month or quarter) you will make a profit. Don`t just try this for one day and expect to make money. It does not work that way! You must be in it for the long haul.
Here you can see what I have done since 24/01/2010. Out of 48 races I only won 21, but still managed to make a R595 profit.
I will always put the previous day`s bets on my blog. That way, you can view my results.
Now, the problem with form-study is just that. Out of 60 or more races, I could only find these 4. Wound`t you rather bet smaller and then bet on every race? Of coarse you would!! It just makes more sense! Spread your "gamble" more evenly over many races and you can recover much easier!
Ok, I hear you say, but HOW do you do that without some kind of guideline or tip service?

I will give FREE tips every day and if you just put equal stakes on them every day, you should make money over a period of time. This is not a get rich quick scheme where the money will just flow in at an unstoppable rate.
No, far from it. I study the horses form. That is based purely on what that specific animal has accomplished during its life as a thoroughbred racehorse. In other words, its past performance.
Now, having said that, things are not always as straight forward as it seems when it comes to horse-racing.
Remember, I sit at home and look at different stats about a horse. I hardly ever go to the track to watch the horses run. Except on the TV. But even there you can not really see the size of them, their coats, their nervous habits etc.
I just bet on them, the way I see it on paper.
Ok, but that is just one of the ways that I bet. There is a much better way of betting on the ponies.
A couple of years ago, two of my friends and I sat down to find a way to bet on horses that could not fail you. We analyzed 600 000 races and came up with a concept that will blow your mind away!
Today, this concept grew into something much lager than we could ever imagined. We call it Formula5
The easiest way to describe this, is to say: Formula5 is a live Internet based website.
It follows the flow of the money from major punters onto various horses. By the amounts of money "received", Formula5 then arrange the horses from top to bottom. Top will be the horse who got the most money and bottom will be the horse with the least amount of support.
Ok, now the fun starts. We have a well guarded formula built into Formula5, witch allows you to add as much horses to your selection as you want. Remember, you are going to bet them all for a win, PLUS you can tell Formula5 exactly how much you want to win!!
